Russian Cultural Center “Our Texas” Photo Exhibition “Allies. 70 Years of Victory”
Now on Display at Walter Neighborhood Library
The Russian Cultural Center “Our Texas” debuted a two-part photography exhibit entitled “Allies. 70 Years of Victory” at HPL Central Library and RCC’s CaviArt Gallery. Due to popular interest, “Allies. 70 Years of Victory” will now remain on display through August 29, 2015 at two locations: Walter Neighborhood Library and HPL Central Library.
A collection of photos by Soviet photographer Samariy Gurariy – Stalin’s favorite photographer at the time of the Yalta Conference – was previously shown at RCC’s CaviArt Gallery and has now moved to Walter Neighborhood Library, located in Houston’s culturally-diverse and vibrant Sharpstown area.
The photos on display at the Central Library are from the archives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia and emphasize the diplomatic efforts made by Russia, the United States, Great Britain and France during the war.
Both exhibitions will be on display through August 29.
Admission is free.
